Hi Everyone! My name is Maximus and I am a 12 year old black male pug. I am not in great shape. I have a grade 4 heart murmer, horribly bad teeth, and an elarged heart. I am doing my best to hang in there and my foster mom is taking very good care of me. The rescue has made me hospice which means I will remain in the care of my foster mom until I am ready to one day cross the rainbow bridge. I like it here though. I have bonded with my foster dad and I have many foster brothers and sisters to keep me company during the day. And don’t tell anyone, but my foster mom spoils me too! I am getting this wonderful food that does not hurt my teeth when I eat. Please stay in touch with me to see how I am doing. Talk to you soon!

Hi There! I’m Buiscut and I have recently arrived in rescue. I am a 6 year old fawn female and I am a petite little girl. I am up to date on my rabies shot, but I still need to go in and see doc for the others. I am already spayed and microchipped.

Due to my medical issues, my foster mommy and the rescue have decided that I should be a hospice pug. I will remain in rescue for the rest of my life, which is ok because I like it here. My foster family is awesome and there are lots of people to snuggle with as well as dogs to play with.

I am in congestive heart failure. Doc says my heart fills up 3/4 of my chest. I Pulmonary adema, a spinal defect that is pinching my spinal cord and really bad hips amongst some other things.

I am on medication for my medical issues and am doing well so far. Please keep checking in for updates.

Update: 9/19/11: I recently found out that my heart is not as strong as it should be. In fact according to my doctor, I am in congestive heart failure. The good news is that the heart medication that I have been put on is helping me and I am showing some improvement. With everything I have been through and the fact that I am still a very sick little girl, my foster mom and the rest of the rescue has decided to welcome me in as a Hospice pug. This means I will remain with my foster mom in rescue for the rest of my life. This is great though, because she is a wonderful mom and i get to still hang out with my foster brother and sisters. Please check in on me from time to time and see how I’m doing.

To make a donation to help Rosie or any other hospice pug, please click the donate button below. These funds specifically go to our hospice babies for medication, medical care and supplies that they may need. Thank you, CFPR.

Update: 8/14/11: Just a quick not to let you all know that I came through surgery fine. Both of my tumors were removed and I am healing nicely. Please check in again soon so I may share with you how well I am doing.

Update: 8/1/11: I am having two new tumors that have shown up removed and I am also having my nares lasered to help me breathe better. Please check back to see how i’m doing.

Update: 3/12/11: I am ready to find my forever home. If you would consider making me a member of your family, I will not let you down. I am a very loving girl and would love to spend the rest of my life loving someone just as much as they love me. I am a cancer survivor and can’t wait for my very own fresh start.

Update: 2/13/11: I have completed my heartworm treatment and will be resting now for another couple of weeks. I am doing very well and the vet is hopeful that I will have several years left to enjoy with a forever family of my very own. Please check in on me and see when I will be ready to be adopted.

Hi, I’m Rosie and I am a 7 year old fawn female. I have had many litters of puppies in my time, but that has all come to an end. I have been spayed! I just received all my shots and was microchipped.

I will be in waiting for a while because I am heartworm positive. I will be undergoing treatment, but the doctor will be doing it slowly. I have been diagnosed with an intermediate stage of Mast Cell Cancer, after having two masses removed.

Thoughts in rescue are optimistic that I will have a fighting chance and that I still have a few years left of life in me.

Hi there! We are Roxy and Nyko and we are together again!

Some of you may have seen me, Roxy in our Hospice section and that is because I was diagnosed with Mast Cell Cancer. My tumors have been removed and I am not at this time showing any signs of being sick. I am happy to report that I have been reunited with my life-long companion Nyko and we will be adopted as a senior pair. I am 10 years old, spayed, up to date on all my shots and micro-chipped.

Hi, I am Nyko and I am a very playful, happy-go-lucky 10 year old little boy. I love my companion, Roxy and am so glad she is with me again. I am very curious about the other pugs in my foster home and am making friends with them. I am neutered, microchipped and up to date on all my shots. Unlike my sister who likes to hog all the attention, I am a more laid back guy and just want to know you are there.

We make a great pair and would love a home and family of our own. We are ready so if we are the ones for you, please fill out an adoption application today, and ask for us, Roxy and Nyko!

Adoption Fee: $200 (pair)

Update: Well, my foster mom and CFPR have decided that it is best for me to live out my life in hospice and stay in rescue. I have an enlarged heart that I will need to be on medication for, for the rest of my life. I am grateful for the love of my foster family and am happy to love them in return for the rest of my days.

My name is Maggie and I am 13 years old.

I am now up to date on all my shots and I have been micro-chipped. I do have some allergies, but I am taking medicine for that. I have some degeneration of the spine, so my tail doesn’t curl. I can be cranky at times, but overall I like to think I’m just a spunky girl.

My foster mom says I can be a little vocal when I want your attention, but I think it adds to my personality.

I have a lot of love to give.

Update: 2/1/11: We do have some sad news to report. Paige crossed over the rainbow bridge last night. She was laid to rest today with our other CFPR babies and will remain with her foster brothers and sisters forever. Lexi is doing well and has bonded with another foster in her home. We will be posting more about paige and a tribute her her in the days to come. Paige, we love you and will miss you.

Update: Hi, Lexi here. I have been diagnosed with an enlarged heart and will need to be on medication for the rest of my life. My foster mom has offered to keep both me and my mother Paige for the rest of our days. I am so happy that I have my foster mom to take care of me and love us forever.

Hello there, my name is Paige and I would like to thank you ever so much for stopping by to learn about me and my darling daughter, Lexi. We hope that you will agree that we are a wonderful pair and will invite us to be a part of your family.

I am 10 years old, spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on all my shots. Although I am completely deaf, I consider myself a “smart cookie” because I respond to hand signals and am pret-ty darn good at it, if I do say so myself.

Now Lexi, my sweet little girl, she’s 7 years old, spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on all her shots as well. She hears perfectly fine but still responds to hand signals. Like mother, like daughter, wouldn’t you say?

We are enjoying our own private suite in our present foster home but would just looooooooove to cuddle in your bed with you. Because Lexi has been with me all her life, it is very important that we stay together. I must admit, as well, that I rely on my little girl and would feel so lost without her by my side. You see, where you see one of us, the other one will not be far behind. We stick together like glue!

Our foster mom says she feels like she has two bunnies in the house because our favorite treat is carrots. Of course, our ears are short and our tails are curly, so I don’t know why she would feel that way.

We are two curious, sweet and loving girls who are ready to steal your heart.

To make a donation to help Lexi, or any other hospice pug, please click the donate button below. These funds specifically go to our hospice babies for medication, medical care and supplies that they may need. Thank you, CFPR.

Update: 10/26/10: I have been diagnosed with Geriatric Epilepsy. I am losing my eyesight and I am now having seizures. Doc has put me on medication and it seems to be helping, but I am so comfortable in my foster home, with my foster family, that I am now hospice. I will remain with them for the remainder of my days. I am not sad about this as they are a wonderful home and family, and I am loved here with many, many pug friends.

I am Ty. I am 11 years old but I can still keep up with the young pups. I lost my best friend Chyna due to heart failure, but I have made lots of new friends here at my foster home. My foster mom has put me on a diet because I am a little overweight. I am getting a lot of exercise now so, hopefully, I’ll be getting back my figure soon. I am up to date on all my shots, neutered and micro-chipped.

I love it when my mom cuddles me and I especially love curling up with my new family at night. I get along with all my new foster brothers and sisters but I do like my space when I am eating. I will need to go to a home where someone special can give me lots of attention and have patience with me. I am losing my sight, but I can still see shadows. I will be able to get around like a seeing pug once I adapt to my surroundings. I due cough once in a while because I have a collapsing trachea, but it is not severe.

I am potty trained to a dog door, but occasionally I will have accidents due to my loss of sight.
