Update: June 2010: We say goodbye to Bus and send you over the rainbow bridge sweetheart. He was loved and lived a wonderful life. We will miss you!

Our baby came to us in March 2006. He was found homeless with no tags. At the initial vet visit, his tear production was 0/15. He was completely blind, suffered from massive tooth rot and was not neutered.

His foster mom came to get him and within hours knew he had found his forever home. Bus now lives with 4 sisters, all of which themselves are handicapped. Bus, who is around 10 years old is now is neutered, and loves it, had all of his teeth pulled and has a tear production of 8/15 and getting better daily. Hopefully by the end of summer, the scar tissue will have thinned and possible surgery will help improve his sight even more.

He now sees shadows and movement. Bus has many favorite things to do such as playing with his stuffed animal, chewing on a bone, getting his belly rubbed, taking naps by the pool and of course eating!!! He is a true chunky monkey. Bus is a blessing to his family who loves him endlessly!!

Arcadia Rocko Jr. aka The “Gene Simmons of Pugs”, Rocko Rambunctious, Rocko Ripshitz and whatever loving nickname Pug Daddy came up with, has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. He was born March 19th 1996. He had a full healthy life. He got me through Cancer and according to George taught him more than any person ever could. He had two seizures within 2 days and his little brain just couldn’t take it. He was wobbly, having trouble breathing. He might have had a blood clot or even tumor near or in the brain but at his age we weren’t putting him through tests, etc. He had gone deaf and blind over the past year. His quality of life was diminishing. We didn’t want him going through more seizures. He needed to rest. Ellen and I got him a double Wendy’s hamburger and a Frosty which he finished. Odie and BooBoo will miss him…well maybe not BooBoo. Rocko had become quite aggravating to Boo. Not seeing him, he kept stepping on him and with only 3 legs Boo couldn’t get out of the way.

This is the 2nd original senior member of Brevard Pug Rescue family that we have lost in the same amount of days. We are sure Moreover will welcome Rocko over the bridge. The group photo is Mika’s boy Tyson, Odie, BooBoo and Rocko on the far right.

RILEY SIRLIN
AUGUST 23rd 1993 – MARCH 6th 2010
Pictures taken 02/20/2010

On Saturday March 6th at approximately 11am, Riley crossed the Rainbow Bridge in anticipation of being with his friends and family that have passed there before him. Riley had been sick since May of last year, and put up a good fight to stay strong. Riley will be sadly missed by all of us and especially by his brother JJ. Riley was JJ’s rock and his best friend.

Riley’s favorite things to do, were going to the park and getting treats. Riley was always the first to figure out that the food was out, and he was always very vocal when food was around. Even though he was blind he could always find the first of the line. Riley loved going to the park to read the Pee-Mail of the day. Riley loved car rides and visiting the pet store, of course I am sure that the treats and food smells were his motivation. When we lived in Florida, Riley and JJ spent a lot of time with their friends from the Pug Group, he had fun dressing for the latest Halloween Party or marching in the Christmas parade. Everyone always loved Riley, and his ability to make everyone fall in love with him always amazed me. Riley and JJ would go to the Bone Appetite’ Doggy Bakery in Casselberry Florida, Riley could walk thru the door and convince them to give him a big doggy cookie, never a little one, always a big one!

When Riley was named by Brenda from SEPRA, she said she named him Riley because she wanted him to have the Life of Riley. I do hope I accomplished this, Riley was a very special dog he deserved the best in life. Riley was always ready to be held and loved on, his favorite place was on your lap, he would stay there as long as your arms could hold him. I hold a very special place in my heart for my Blind Riley Pug, he is not far from my thoughts and never will be.

This little pug dog has touched many lives in his short 16 years, but he has accomplished what he was put on this earth to do. Now go play my little friend with the eyes you haven’t had in many years, with legs that will carry you far. Take care and wait for me by the Rainbow Bridge so we can once again be together.

With special love from Mom and JJ.

It is with a heavy heart that we write to let you know that Sol has passed away.

Things took a turn for the worse late Saturday into Sunday, and Sunday into Monday things only continued to get worse and her breathing was more and more labored. We took her into the vet first thing this morning and decided it was best to let her go. It was a terribly difficult decision, but one that we know was right because she was unable to rest or get comfortable because it was so hard to breathe.

Solsey you changed our lives forever and we are so happy that we got to share this time with you.

You were a treasure to us.

Warrick, one of the first pugs rescued by CFPR and our logo pug, passed on in May, 2008, when one of his lung abscesses (acquired as a result of his days being used as a bait dog for pit-bull fighting)burst. Despite his years of abuse, Warrick was a big teddy bear…he loved snuggling with his people and sucking on his “Woobie” , a big chenille stuffed pillow. As his foster and adoptive mom, I miss him terribly…his passing left a gigantic hole in our lives.
