It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our beloved Cassie, now Adorabelle. She was having seizures and got to the point where no one to help her and ending her suffering was the most humane thing to do. Adorabelle was so lucky to have Mariah in her life and I know the feeling was mutual. Rest Adorabelle now over the bridge and play with all your puggie friends. We love you always. -CFPR

A note from my new mom: Cassie is doing great! She is running around trying to find my roommates cat as we speak (The cat is on the chair- Cassie just can’t see her!) ~Mariah

Congratulations Cassie on your forever home!

Hi! My name is Cassie, and despite the fact that I am 10 years young, I am 14 lbs. of DY-NO-MITE! There is nothing “retiring” about me…I love pug racing, long walks, bossing around, well, just about everybody, all social occasions because I just LOVE attention, and of course, being cuddled by my humans. I am so petite my foster mom can take me anywhere…she even pops me into her purse from time to time for an outing! I am perfectly housebroken and have excellent manners…I always ask politely before joining you on the furniture. And my fur simply defines stylish: long and silky, tinted apricot with golden highlights. I manage to keep my girlish figure by eating only at mealtimes…while I love my food, you can give the treats to those other pugs who aren’t quite so careful about their waistlines! I am in perfect health (although tree pollen does give me the sneezes…nothing a bit of Benadryl can fix right up!), spayed, and even had my teeth cleaned recently, so I am ready for a new home. I’d prefer a home where I am recognized for the beauty I am and treated accordingly…and although I get along well with other animals and even small children, please remember that I am a bit of a diva and expect to be treated as the cutest member of the family!

Update: 11/8/11: Cole, you were such a sweet baby, loved by so many. Your mom Wendy was an angel to you and you were to her. We will all miss you so much. We keep you in our thoughts as you cross the Rainbow Bridge. Play sweetheart!

Congratulations cole on your forever home!

Update 4/4/2011: An application has already been received on this pug. We process adoption applications on a first-come, first-served basis, however there is no guarantee that a prior application will be accepted or an adoption take place. If you would like to be placed on the waiting list of potential adoptors for this pug, please go ahead and file your application. If you would rather not wait for this pug, we encourage you to browse our other “Available” pugs to see if any others capture your heart, or file an adoption application describing to us the type of pug you are looking for (age, color, sex, etc.) and we will match you up with the first pug available meeting your description.

Hi there! My name is cole and I am an 11 year old black boy, but I act much younger….more middle aged in fact. I love to play and be with other pugs. I am partially blind, and have had some hearing loss. I will need lifelong eyedrops for dry eye, but other than that I am healthy.

When I first came into rescue, my ears were so infected that they were swollen shut. My foster mom has taken such good care of me, that my ears are almost totally healed and are continuing to get better every day. She has also shown me how to be a seeing impaired pug and I can map a room in to time.

I am up to date on all my shots, micro-chipped and neutered. My foster mom says I am a sweet gentle little guy I am ready to find my forever home.

We will miss you Cookie. Here is a special message to you from your mom and dad.

To Our Cookie,

You came into our lives in April 2009 and you came in with such confidence and love. Daddy fell in love with you when we met you at “Meet the Pugs” in Altamonte Springs. He just loved how you waddled your way in the parking lot.

When we picked you up he sat with you in the back seat to make certain you were not scared and were comfortable. He was always protective of you, and you attached to him. He used to love it when he picked you up and you “flew”. He just adored having you lie next to him in the bed. He misses it still. He especially enjoyed your snuffling your way around the house until you found him. How you barked or yelled when we would leave you on the sofa. You were such a little queen.

We knew when we adopted you that you were special with special needs. We had hoped that you would have been around for many, many years, but that was not to be. We had you for two short years and we treasured every minute of that time with you. Even our new pug Buzz respected you and your space. How you bossed him around was funny. You never let your bad heart or poor eyesight get in your way. Daddy especially loved how you would watch over him as he showered and then would lick his ankles to make certain he had washed correctly. He pampered you.

We can both remember your winning at the Halloween Dogs’ Night Out at KC’s Big Dipper Ice Cream social. Daddy was so proud that his little girl won. If it had been millions of dollars he couldn’t have been prouder of you. I know that you are happily running around in heaven, where all dogs go, playing and eating and snoozing.

Your passing back in April 2011, has left an empty spot in our home. You have left a mark on our hearts forever. We will never forget you.

Mom and Dad

Titus has crossed the rainbow bridge. We will miss you sweet boy! You are not in anymore pain. We love you!

Hi, I’m Titus and i am a 6 year old male pug mix. I am so glad to be in rescue as without these wonderful people, I would have been put to sleep. I had a horrible mast cell mass on my rectum that was not treated and abscessed to a point where I was in pain and couldn’t perform normal bodily functions.

Since being in rescue, I have had surgery and doc removed most of the mass as well as re-created a new rectum for me. So I got some plastic surgery out of the deal! My fur is growing back and my stitches have been removed. I am doing really well.

Anyway, as of now, I am hospice, but I am making strides and improvements every day. I will still have to be evaluated for my overall health and see how far my cancer has progressed.

It is with a sad heart that we send baby Peanut over the Rainbow Bridge. Peanut was only estimated to be just under 2 weeks old and was the only survivor of her litter. A vet and vet tech in West Palm Beach treated her and tried their best to save her. They did everything they could but on her way up to arrive with CFPR, she passed away. Here is a message from the woman involved in her care.

“My name is Kelly I was the one who contacted the pug rescue for Peanut, the little female that didn’t make it last night. I’m so sorry about her passing we worked on her all night n day. I was really hopeful for her recovery. Thank you so much, you and Jamie were and are absolutely wonderful. I will be making donations in the future. It’s nice to know there are caring people in the world like you and Jamie! Thank you for being so wonderful to my mom and to peanut! I found 2 pictures from one of the girls here. We all fell in love with her. ”

Thank you Kelly from CFPR for doing everything you could for little Peanut. She was loved, even for only a short while and she wil always be remembered with us

We got Monty via Pug Rescue as a foster June of 2007. He was a mess – flea bitten, ear infections, eye problems, the whole nine yards. The veterinarian in Altamonte did not think his odds of survival went much beyond a few weeks. We fell in love with Monty immediately and decided if he made it he had already found his new home. Nobody was sure how old he was but thought he was probably 11+ years.

Well ole Monty turned out to be a trooper with a strong will to live and lasted almost 4 years with us before time finally took it’s toll on him. He was our “baby” and required a lot of care due to his old age disabilities but we loved him dearly and cherished the time we had with him. He will be sorely missed. He was one of the best “cuddle buddies” we’ve ever had and will live on in our hearts forever.

We love you and miss you –

Mom, Dad, Gram, Shelby & Lucy
