Hailey
Congratulations on your permanent home!
Helllo, My name is Hailey. Let me tell you my story, I am a great pug! I am only about 7 years old, I have been spayed and I am up to date on all my shots. Before I came to rescue I was having a hard time seeing and, one day, I just really couldn’t see at all. I can make out shadows but really nothing else. My previous owners did not know what was wrong or why at 7 years old I would have gone blind. They surrendered me to CFPR and they took me to the vet, where they discovered that I was Diabetic. Now I am in foster care getting my medication daily for diabetes, but that will not bring my sight back. I am a really sweet girl and, once I learn my surroundings, I get around just fine. I am still playful and happy but need a unigue family because of my condition. I sometimes do not know friend or foe when someone bends down to pet me or if other dogs are just coming to sniff and say Hi. If they are not familiar, I can be moody and need to be introduced slowly. I will require insulin shots daily for the rest of my life just like a regular diabetic person.

How much does the insulin cost and how long does a typical supply last (roughly)?
Hi Larry, I forward your inquiry to Hailey’s foster mom and the foster coordinator. They should be responding soon.
Larry, the insulin costs about $50 for 2-3 months and the test kit is around $2-300 is what I’m told. With much thought, Hailey’s foster home has decided to adopt her. Hailey has bonded greatly with her human foster sister and vice versa.
