Luna

Update 7/11/10:  Luna has really become quite a character.  She still is afraid of sudden noises, but she has become quite comfortable around people, and goes up to everyone she meets to say Hi and get petted.  She isn’t shy at all around people.  She loves to play around outside, and loves to go into bushes and act like she is in a jungle.  She also runs and almost looks like she is skipping.  She is gaining some weight, and believe it or not, her tail is starting to curl.  I took a picture that shows her tail.  She also is starting to pick up toys to play with.  She has become quite a princess, and has taken over our chairs.  It’s hard to sit down, because as we are about to sit, she will zoom up and jump into the chair ahead of us.  She is very comical.

Update: 5-30-2010: We are Steve/Mary who adopted Luna and we are in love with her already.  Curly and Luna are getting along great and drank water together. They went for a walk and she did great. Luna already took over Steve’s “chair”

Congratulations Luna on your forever home!

Hello, my name is Luna and I am a 6 year old female.  I do cower a little when you come near me, but i will warm up to you eventually.

I am a very sweet and loving girl looking for the right family just for me.  I am up to date on all my shots, and I have been spayed and microchipped.

I am ready for my new home.  Hopefully I will see you soon.

Hi Kim, Luna is a very sweet girl. She came into rescue last Wed. She was found wandering in a horse pasture, looks to be a product of a BYB. She’s estimated to be between 5-7 yrs old. She was just spayed and had a dental on Friday. She is also on antibiotics for a UTI. She should be ready for adoption in a couple of weeks. Luna is very timid but craves alot of loving attention. When you approach her, she quickly cowers and then combat crawls to you. We are working on her confidence and she is getting better. I was able to get some kissses from her. You can tell she is happy as her tail wags all the time. She gets along with my other pugs but I suggest she goes to a home with no small children due to her being timid. I’ll try to get more videos of her posted. When she is ready for adoption, she will be at the Altamonte or the Sanford Petco locations on the scheduled days. Please check back soon for her update.

We are very interested in adopting Luna. We could give her a very loving home in New Port Richey. We have a male (neutered) 7 year old Pug that was rescued from Hurricane Charley. We want so very badly to have a companion for him, and Luna sounds wonderful. Our Pug is very loving and the whole neighborhood knows and loves him. They stop by with bones, etc., for him all the time. My husband is disabled and uses a power chair most of the time. He takes our Pug our for walks in his chair, and I also walk him around the neighborhood. We would give Luna a very loving home and would work to show her she need not fear anyone. It sounds like she may have been abused. We are used to working with dogs that have issues, because our other Pug certainly had issues after the hurricane. Not to mention the fact that our Pug is fawn, and my husband has wanted a black Pug also. Please contanct us at (727) 376-2541 or email us at :

    Thank you very much.
