Raphael
Congratulations Raphael on your new home!
My name is Raphael. I’m a big, handsome heart-breaker who would just love to come snuggle with you on those cold winter nights. I was rescued by CFPR from the Manatee County Animal Shelter (I was a mess thin, coughing my head off, and with infected eyes) but now I have been neutered, my cough is gone, my eyes are clear and I am a lean, muscular 30 lbs (hey, I told you I was a big guy!).
Iím six years old, but there is nothing old about me I can outrun the youngsters in my foster household paws down. My favorite activities are long brisk walks at dusk, watching old movies (preferably with my head in someone’s lap while getting my tummy rubbed), mooching tidbits off my foster dad’s dinner plate (He is SO easy!) and watching my younger foster brother make a fool of himself with that squeaking rubber octopus he carries around with him everywhere (I mean, toys are okay, and I have my favorites, but that constant “Squeak! Squeak! Squeak!” is really annoying!) I put up with it, though, and everyone remarks upon my amazing, even temperament, even in the presence of cats.
Eating is also high on my list of things I love to do, but I am not an over-eater like some pugs I know and am never aggressive, about food or anything else. What I am is a lover and what I really want is a human of my very own to love me back.
My New Home
Here is Raphael with his new pug brothers, Sam and Chipper, and his new mom and dad, Alicia and Chris. Another happy CFPR family!

I had a chance to meet this little man the other night and what a sweet little boy. Raphael has a very quiet and gentle way about him. Just a big softy.
Raphael is absolutely the cutest thing, however I have a couple of questions. I have 2 girls ages 12 and 9 and my baby boy cat “Trouble” of 2 yrs. Would Raphael get along with them? My girls are major animal lovers and would give him so much attention and as for “Trouble” he is so mellow he could really care less if there was another animal once he gets to know them. Trouble is also Declawed and likes to play every now and then hiding under things and giving you a drive by that is absolutely the funniest thing I have ever seen. I also work while my girls are at school would he be ok for the day while we are away? Other than work I am a home body and would love to take Raphael with the girls to the park if he would like that too! I love to show off my animals they are my live as are my girls!
My Daughter and I are absolutely in love with Raphael. I’d bring him home with me in an instant, but we have a two-dog limit in the household.
My Daughter is 10 and Raphael warmed up to her instantly. He even tolerated her picking him up and trying to “adjust” herself to his 30 pounds so she could carry him.
He’s a real heart breaker! He certainly stole our hearts!
