Tea Rose
Congratulations Tea Rose on your forever home!
Update: 9/5/11: An application has already been received on this pug. We process adoption applications on a first-come, first-served basis, however there is no guarantee that a prior application will be accepted or an adoption take place. If you would like to be placed on the waiting list of potential adopters for this pug, please go ahead and file your application. If you would rather not wait for this pug, we encourage you to browse our other “Available” pugs to see if any others capture your heart, or file an adoption application describing to us the type of pug you are looking for (age, color, sex, etc.) and we will match you up with the first pug available meeting your description.
Update 3/13/2011: I went back to the vet and received some great news! I no longer need to be on a special diet; I can now happily munch on a regular grain-free, limited ingredient diet like all the other foster pugs. Yay! And the best news of all? The doc said I could start taking an over-the-counter Claritin or Zyrtec for my allergies which means I won’t suffer as much. It’s so great to be healthy! So, don’t delay, submit your application today ad ask for me, Tea Rose!
Update: 2-23-10: I am doing well. I am full of personality and can’t wait to find my forever home. Did I mention I am only 6?
Update: 10-27-10: My foster mom had an allergy test done for me and we now know why I am itching so badly. I am allergic to several grasses, weeds, trees, fungi, and dust mites. It is good that we know what I am allergic to so that my forever family, whomever they are will know how to best care for me. I will need more frequent baths, but I don’t mind. My bedding should be washed regularly, and I will probably do best in a home with minimal carpet. Other than that, I am doing well and can’t wait to have a home of my own. See you soon!
My name is Tea Rose. On the outside I may not be the prettiest pug on the block, but on the inside I am as sweet and lovely as my namesake. I came into rescue with some disadvantages, you see…I was starved and overrun with ticks and my skin was an itchy mess. With good food and proper medication, I am now filling out and looking good, if I do say so myself! I still get the sneezes, especially when I am outside rolling in the grass, but everything else is under control. And now to the important things: I am six years young but have the energy of a puppy, maybe because I am finally getting the chance to cut loose and enjoy my life! I choose my dog friends carefully; not just anyone will do. But I do love my humans without reserve and would not mind at all being your ONLY dog. Are you a walker? If so, I am definitely the pug for you as I LOVE long walks…morning, evening, whenever the weather is tolerable. Travel? I’m up for it…long car rides are a special treat for me. I can be a bit of a diva at times, but believe me, I am worth it. If you are so lucky as to pluck this Tea Rose for your own you will have a friend forever!
Adoption Fee: $250

Tea Rose is coming along nicely. We are pretty sure Tea is only 6 years old. She acts like a puppy. So playful! She is healing nicely from her spay, had a dental and once she heals and gains a bit more weight, will be available!
Tea sure is a sweetheart! If you are looking for a sweet lap dog and don’t have another alpha dog, Tea Rose would be perfect. She is a perfect little puggy and worth the little bit of extra effort with her food and allergies! Her food is no more expensive than a decent quality dry food, and her allergies are doing better now that she is healthy! She is very playful and loves her toys and chew bones. She is potty trained and loves going for walks, to the dog park! Sleeps perfectly though the night in her crate, but no crate during the day! She does not need it, but loves to sleep in it, or would even be happier sleeping in bed with you!!! She does not act like a six year old and since we do not know her exact age, she could be a bit younger.

IS TEA ROSE AVAIBLE
Is Tea Rose still available? She looks small what does she weigh? I live in Palm Beach County. How far would I need to travel to meet her? Thanks
Hi Brenda,
Tea Rose is still available. I am not sure on her weight, but she is a smaller pug. She is being fostered in the Orlando area. If you are interested in Tea Rose, you are welcome to fill out an application for her. Our adoption coordinator will get in touch with you and be able to open a line of communication with the foster mom and you so you may ask any questions about Tea Rose. Thank you. Dana-Foster/Medical Director
Brenda, I had the privilege of meeting Tea Rose in St. Augustine not long ago. She is a great little pug… really sweet, but also a little diva!
She can be a diva, but her foster mom has been doing a great job of working with her and she has come a long way since St. Augustine.

What do you mean by “She’s a Diva”? Is she hard to get along with?
Hi Brenda,
Tea Rose has some Alpha-female tendencies. What that means is that depending on another female dog, she may try to dominate by barking and making a fuss. I have seen Tea Rose recently, today in fact, and she was around other dogs. She did very well. Not one outburst. Her foster mom has really been working with her to teach her that she is not in charge.

Brenda, what I meant by “diva” is she LOVED to be the center of human attention that day! She was very friendly & would be a great choice.
Hi, I turned in an application last Sunday @ Wolfgang’s in Celebration but haven’t heard back from anybody. Please let me know where the process stands.
Hi John,
I know the foster mom for Tea Rose was away. I have forwarded your comment to our Adoption Coordinator to follow-up to see what the status is. You should be hearing from her or the foster mom for Tea Rose soon. Thank you for your patience. Dana-Medical Director
How is Tea Rose doing? Where is she being fostered? Will you guys ever come back to the St. Augustine/Palm Coast areas again?
Hi Tracy,
Tea Rose is doing very well. She is off her allergy medicine now and is being such a good girl. We will be coming back up to the St. Augustine area possibly in November. We are still finalizing plans. Please stay tuned to the calendar for the most current events of where you may come see us and the pugs. Thanks, Dana-Medical Director/Web Manager
