Ty

I am Ty.  I am 11 years old but I can still keep up with the young pups. I lost my best friend Chyna due to heart failure, but I have made lots of new friends here at my foster home. My foster mom has put me on a diet because I am a little overweight. I am getting a lot of exercise now so, hopefully, I’ll be getting back my figure soon.  I am up to date on all my shots, neutered and micro-chipped.

I love it when my mom cuddles me and I especially love curling up with my new family at night. I get along with all my new foster brothers and sisters but I do like my space when I am eating. I will need to go to a home where someone special can give me lots of attention and have patience with me.  I am losing my sight, but I can still see shadows.  I will be able to get around like a seeing pug once I adapt to my surroundings.  I due cough once in a while because I have a collapsing trachea, but it is not severe.

I am potty trained to a dog door, but occasionally I will have accidents due to my loss of sight.  If you have the patience and love to give me great home, I promise I will give you great companionship.  I am a loving sweet guy who just needs a home where I can rest, play and be loved.  Please fill out an application and ask for me…Ty.

Ty’s got such sweet eyes. I bet he’s a charmer.

Senior pugs make the best friends ever! All they want to do is be wherever you are, and they’re always on hand for a kiss and a hug. I don’t think you could ask for anything more than that.

Our “little man” Rogan has brought our family so much joy, and I truly don’t know how we ever managed before he came into our lives. He adores his Dad and, although his walk is slower than the others, I swear he would follow Matt to the ends of the Earth.

    Three cheers for senior pugs!

As a fellow CFPR foster mom, I had the pleasure of pug-sitting Ty for a week at Christmas. He was such a sweetheart and got along so well with my three fosters. He just loves to cuddle up in your lap or next to you on the couch while you watch TV. He even gives sweet little puggy kisses. Oh, and don’t let his age fool you; he may be 10 but when he gets going, he’s got the spunk of a much younger boy. Please consider this sweet boy if you are looking for a fellow couch potato. He’ll love you for it. :-)

Ty is back in the house and feels like home. He is enjoying all the company of the young girls. He’s such a little charmer. He isn’t behaving like a 10 year old at all. If it wasn’t for his little bit of gray I would swear he is going through puberty. At the end of the day though, he just wants to snuggle and be sweet little Ty.

Is Ty crate trained by any chance? How does he handle the heat? Does he seem to be a dominate or submissive boy? What’s the longest walk you’ve taken him on?

Hi, I have had Ty with me for several months. He is a big mush of a guy. Ty is good for long walks when the weather allows. He can be a little aggressive at meal time so I feed him seperate. He does like the company of my other pugs. Ty came in with a female companion but she passed away a week after they were brought into rescue. She was 14 and had congestive heart failure. It was very hard on Ty but he is making great progress. I do not crate my pugs so I am not sure how he would do with that. I’m sure for short periods he would be okay. He is trained to a dog door and loves the outdoors.
Right now he sleeps with my 14 year old son.
He is in good physical shape. He has lost some of his sight but he can still see what he needs to, food dish, dog door and me.
Ty just needs a home of his own with lots of lovin. If you have any further questions please feel free to email me direct. Thank you for thinking of a rescue to add to your family. Juanita
