Cocoa

My Cocoa was a sweet gentle little boy. He became ill with a bladder failure
over the last months. We were so lucky to have him for the short time we
did.

When he 1st came to us he would pull his back end around so fast he
would slide around in circles. He loved his new wheels that his human dad
built him. He could eat and potty standing up like the big dogs. He seemed
to give us a big grin when he was in his wheels.

Cocoa was a cuddle baby that loved to lay in our laps. Cocoa brought joy and life into our home.

It is with much sadness that we send Cocoa over the Rainbow bridge to be with
those others that have gone before him.

It’s so hard to let our babies go, and my heart goes out to you and your family.

It’s very obvious by the look on Cocoa’s face that he was happy and well loved. I love the pictures of him with his wheels. I expect that, in the future, I will be needing a set for one of my seniors. Would your husband be willing to write up a tutorial on how to build this pugbuggy? I’m sure the Rescue would love to be able to provide something like this to families with “special needs puglets.” Thanks.

Cocoa was all smiles when he got his wheels. The lady he came to us from, she crossed the Rainbow Bridge ahead of Cocoa, said she would walk him by holding his tail so that he could stand up “on his own”. This little guy never gave up. I wish I had his strength and disposition.
The wheels were based on a design from George and Becky Hinton. We, Nita and I, were refining the design to more suit Cocoa’s needs when we lost him. The final version was almost perfect, it even had a “doggie diaper” to help him with accidents and a John Deere pouch on the back to carry his “stuff”. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to get a foto of this version.
We would be more than willing to share information or help build wheels for anyone who has the need of them. I am sure I speak for George and Becky as well.
Cocoa was one of the special ones… I miss him…

Cocoa was the first black pug I’d ever met and I fell in love with him. He was already to give a quick kiss. He was always well cared for and loved, so it is fitting that he had a “royal carriage” made for him! God Bless that little guy.
