Frankie
Update: 6/21/11: Frankie has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. After being diagnosed with Mast Cell Cancer, removing his tumors, and putting him on a form oc chemo therapy, Frankie passed away today at the vet on his own. He went in to see doc after exhibiting some strange behavior and passed in his sleep. X-rays revealed that Frankie has large masses throughout him internally, and it was his time to go. He went peacefully and did not struggle. He now rests with the other pugs over the bridge, and his remains will be with his foster mom who loved him as if he were her own. We will miss you Frankie.
Hello Everyone! My name is Frankie and I have been in rescue for a few months now. Since I have been in rescue, I was diagnosed with Type II Mast Cell Cancer. I did have my tumor removed and as of now I am cancer free. The tumors could come back, so any family that will love me, will have to keep an eye on me for that.
I am a sweet, mellow, loving boy looking for a human companion.

Hi…I recently adopted Miaggi, his brother.
Miaggi is doing wonderfully.
Does Frankie not have long to live?
Do you think it’s possible for me to adopt Frankie maybe in a few years when I have a legit income and job?
Hi Ricki,
Frankie was diagnosed with Mast Cell Cancer. As a matter of fact, he had surgery recently, and seems to be doing very well. We are going to make him available for adoption soon, with the understanding that he is special needs. If you are interested in considering him for adoption to re-unite him with his brother, I will let his foster mom know. It would be wonderful for them. Thanks, Dana-Foster Coordinator
I don’t think I have the means to take care of two pugs right now. . . .I don’t have a career yet and Miaggi is my first pug.
So if Frankie is still available in a few years, I would consider adopting him. But if he can find a forever home tomorrow with someone else, that’s okay too. I’ll be happy for him.
Ricki,
Frankie is trying to find his place now without his brother. He is showing no signs of his cancer.
Have you ever thought about fostering? If you have the room, as hospice, the rescue would take care of Frankie’s needs.
We want to thank you for giving Miaggi a wonderful home. Please keep in touch and let us know how you are both doing and I will do the same with Frankie. Hugs to Miaggi, Juanita
Sorry for getting back to you so late. I really had to think about this. . .
I would LOVE to take in Frankie. . .Miaggi has given me so much joy, I’m sure Frankie would be a bunch of rainbows and charms.
But I am still a professional student and in terms of time commitment, taking care of one pug is all I can handle for now. . .I’m sorry. . .
And it makes me so sad. I wish I could give Miaggi a playmate, a brother…
Best wishes to you and Frankie.
Ricki…I use to have one pug then I got another and let me tell you..you just cant have 1 Your pug will love the companion especially with you being so busy. They will have each other while you are away. Mine is sooo much happier with her sister and you never see one without the other. They snuggle and play all day! Like a potato chip you just cant have one. Doreen
I think I know Frankie’s foster mom, she helped me transport my two to the eye doctor when I was adopting them, she is a great mom and Frankie couldnt be with a better person. I am looking to adopt another older pug, I have put in a application for Joey, he looks like a really sweet boy. I have gotten into fostering myself recently, its too bad the two boys couldnt have been reunited. There is no way Babie would have been happy without her Buddy. I understand though, when you have a busy schedule, you dont want to spread yourself too thin, pugs love to have alot of love. I am glad that the cancer has been dealt with and Frankie is on the mend. Hello to Frankies foster mom. Cindy
Has Frankie been adopted yet?
Hi Sandra,
No, Frankie has not been adopted. On your application, please indicate you are interested in both Frankie and Gizmo and when April contacts you, you can discuss both pugs with her. Thank you. Dana-Foster/Medical Director
