Shane A.K.A. Toad
My Name is Toad, but my foster mom has kissed me with her love and care and has transformed me back into a real live Prince. I am about 2 years old, UTD on my shots and have been neutered. I came to my foster mom looking like I had been through a jousting match. My body was scratched and scarred and my eyes were so injured they thought I might lose them, all from my being forced to fight for my life against other bigger dogs. I am doing very well now, due to the care and love I have received from my foster mom, Dr. Larkins and the other wonderful folks at CFPR. I will let my foster mom tell you the rest of my story, I need to rest my eyes now.
Toad was released from the Chipley “county jail”. He rode on the underground pug transport train for a few days and finally made it to his foster home. Originally CFPR was told he was a pug who had been hit by a car. NOT SO. Toad is a BUG (Boston Terrier and Pug mix) and he actually had been injured in a dog fight. His body wounds healed quickly with the help of his foster Mom. His eyes on the other hand have been a challenge from the day he arrived. With lots of care, continuous medication and the devoted attention of the CFPR vet, we were able to save his eyes and Doc believes that he may still have some very limited sight. Toady (as his mom calls him) has a wonderful loving personality. He loves to give kisses and thinks he is as small as a pug. He wants to be a lap dog! His foster mom would like to see him go to a family with older children (or none)and be an only dog (or with one other). Toad has shown some aggression to certain dogs, but others he loves. His foster mom thinks he may have been used as a bait dog for a fighting ring and this is why he has trouble with some dogs.
